I hate that it has been so long since I have posted anything but man, oh man, we have been so busy! Praise the Lord!
We at BuildinGUATE have been abundantly blessed by all that have passed through and spent time serving alongside us. I am so grateful and encouraged by each of you. It was especially sweet to have a small group from my home church of South Tulsa Baptist Church come for a week. I will never tire of having my people come every now and then. We were so thrilled that they were able to spend a day out at the dump and see this ministry for the first time! Come back any time!!
So many groups and individuals came throughout the months to help with soup kitchens and various projects. We got a lot of people fed and moved forward on a lot of construction projects. We couldn’t do it all without the support of other ministries and people with hearts to serve. Thank you to all who helped us!!
For the month of November we had a special treat. 3 young adults from Canada came for the entire month to serve with us (Alvin, Nancy, and Victor). They raised the funds to help us upgrade the 8 houses we already had built, and then they came and the did the work! It was an awesome month with them. We were GREATLY blessed not only by their hard work ethic but also by their love and maturity in the Lord.
Also – a special thank you to all who helped me get my house furnished. I have so far been able to be a temporary home for a total of 6 people! I am hoping this next year brings more opportunity for this to be a secondary ministry for me. Thank you so much for helping make it possible!
For the upcoming weeks there’s no slowing down. We have a team coming in a couple of weeks that will serve solely with BuildinGUATE. We will continue to build new homes, potentially a bath house, and also have a VBS for the kids each day. It will be an amazing time. Please pray as we prepare for them to come and also for the week that they are here. May God be glorified and may more come to know Him.
On a personal note, I ask that you pray for me as well. The workload has been a lot and I am tired and worn down. I am missing home more than usual. I have missed lots of birthdays and family events and won’t make it home for the holidays this year. It will be my first time. I am so grateful to God that He has provided a close knit second family for me here. At the same time, I am also navigating the emotions of losing members of my little second family little by little to the US. God is sending people all over the place and there are times it is very hard to say goodbye. But, His grace is sufficient for me! I can rest in that.
Stay tuned for another post regarding some ways you can help BuildinGUATE in this holiday season!
